The two Saratoga Town Council meetings in November centered around the renewal of liquor licenses for various businesses in Saratoga. Two of the businesses, the Rustic Bar and Lazy River Cantina, have seen fights and unruly behavior at least twice a month. The Wyoming Cowgirls ran away with an 80-54 victory Friday over Colorado Christian in front of over 4,000 fans in Wyoming’s annual Education Day Game. One volleyball player from Saratoga and three volleyball players from Encampment made the All-Conference Volleyball Team. Josie Little, of Saratoga, made the list while Kyenna Jackson, Kristie Jordan and Eckerley Pickett, of Encampment were added to the honor list. Jackson also made the all-state volleyball team. Barbara Lynn Hagan (Vogt Grudier) of Saratoga, Wyoming passed away Tuesday November 5, 2024 at the age of 69. Barbara was born and raised in Houston, Texas to the late Thomas and Mary Jane Vogt, on November 23, 1954, as the oldest of five children. Her brother Tommy Vogt preceded her in death. Curtis Campbell, formerly of Saratoga and Encampment, passed away in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on October 15, 2024, at the age of 93. Curt was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania, on October 3, 1931. He entered the Air Force in 1948 and had a long career as a flight engineer. He flew on many test flights while stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, including the first ever flight of the C-130. The Carbon County School District Board of Trustees approved a donation made by John H. Perue Living Trust in memory of John’s late wife Linda Fisher-Perue. The trust donated $1,000 for the Saratoga Middle High School (SMHS) Art Program. The donation is for purchase of supplies and equipment. Fisher-Perue was the art teacher at SMHS from 1993 to 2014. Encampment K-12 School hosted the Carbon County School District No. 2 (CCSD2) November 18, which gave Principal Jake Johnston an opportunity to show off the improvements in the school building. Improvements include new carpet in the office and hallway, a redesign of the front office for visitors and parents to check in and new bleachers.
